The Bavarian scientific ecosystem of artificial intelligence (AI) consists of universities, universities of applied sciences and non-university research institutes. They closely collaborate not only in various projects but also in long-term networks driving AI innovations.

CLAIRE (Confederation of Laboratories for Artificial Intelligence Research in Europe) aims to strengthen Europe’s outstanding position in research and development of Artificial Intelligence. Its extensive network forms a pan-European alliance of research laboratories for Artificial Intelligence in Europe.

The ELLIS Unit Munich is part of the European ELLIS network and combines the expertise of Technical University of Munich (TUM), Helmholtz Munich and other cooperation partners, especially in the development of novel machine learning methods and their application in biomedicine, computer vision and earth observation.
