The Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg-Weiden focuses on machine learning, natural language processing and deep learning as well as applications in medicine and autonomous driving.
Ansbach University of Applied Sciences looks at AI from the perspectives of companies, educational institutions and the public. Scientists conduct research on AI-based chatbots and cognitive assistance systems, among other things.
TH Aschaffenburg focuses on the application of AI in transport and aims in particular at increasing efficiency and sustainability.
Augsburg University of Applied Sciences is a member of the Augsburg AI Production Network and focuses its AI on business, design, engineering, computer science and social work. In particular, the focus is on the implementation of AI in companies.
Coburg University of Applied Sciences conducts research on Industry 4.0, Mobility and Smart City, Visual Computing, IT Security and the Internet of Things. It also looks at ethical issues and the impact of AI on the insurance industry.
TH Deggendorf focuses on research in the areas of IT and cyber security and works closely with the German AI Association.
As a “Green Tech University”, Hof University of Applied Sciences links researchers and students with companies. The focus of AI research is on machine learning, which is also considered in a social and economic context. Innovative and environmentally friendly solutions are being devised for mobility in rural areas.
Ingolstadt is the Bavarian AI hub for mobility and production (ai hub mobility). At the AImotion Bavaria Institute of the TH Ingolstadt, researchers are working on AI-supported automotive production, autonomous driving and unmanned flight. At the Institute for Innovative Mobility (IIMo), research is being conducted into adaptive battery systems.
Kempten University of Applied Sciences focuses on robotics and the application of AI in production and care. Of particular interest here are the potentials, opportunities and risks of AI in home care for the elderly.
One focus at Landshut University of Applied Sciences is on applications in automotive and production engineering. In the Artificial Intelligence program, students gain fundamental knowledge in machine learning, as well as AI in the automotive, medical, and manufacturing industries.

In the field of AI, Munich University of Applied Sciences focuses on machine learning and on interface areas in the social and economic context, such as law or healthcare.
The University of Television and Film trains future film talent and counts international film producers such as Bernd Eichinger and Roland Emmerich among its graduates. The focus at the Chair of AI is AI in film production. This involves working with large amounts of film data and with AI-generated film sequences.
The Munich School of Philosophy conducts research on philosophical, social science, and ethical issues related to AI. In particular, the interfaces between AI and social work and care will be addressed.
The international business school trains students for leadership and management positions. In the field of AI, Neu-Ulm University is particularly concerned with data analytics. In the research labs, students can program AI applications and experiment with autonomous robots.
Georg Simon Ohm University of Applied Sciences Nuremberg deals with numerous focal points in the field of AI: machine learning, natural language processing, software development, AI in health and social care, AI in industrial applications with a special focus on sustainability.
The Nuremberg University of Music is Germany’s youngest university of music. She places one of her research focuses on the use of artificial intelligence in artistic creation. For example, researchers are addressing questions about how humans and machines make music.

Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences conducts research on various topics in the field of AI, ranging from Data Science methods for analyzing drivers and influencing factors of digital transformation to Descriptive Statistics and Exploratory Data Analysis to (Un-) Supervised Learning for investigating enterprise data and data-driven strategy.
The focus of the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences is on AI in life and bioengineering, agricultural and forestry sciences, and food technology.
One focus of the Würzburg-Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences is the application of AI technologies in medical technology and industrial environments. The university takes a holistic approach to AI research and also addresses legal and ethical aspects.
