Cross-cluster projects of the Bavarian AI Agency

The Bavarian AI Agency is partner in four cross-cluster projects of the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy‘s cluster offensive.

The cluster offensive networks companies and research institutions from 17 key sectors in the Free State in order to make synergies visible and usable and to develop highly competitive products. The aim of the cross-cluster projects is interdisciplinary networking, knowledge transfer and opening up opportunities for cooperation between the cluster members.

AI in biotechnology

Goals:

  • Identification of technical and content-related interfaces in the application of artificial intelligence in the cluster companies and institutions, such as drug development or personalized medicine
  • Information formats on best practice examples from research and industry and on the opportunities and risks of regulations
  • Advice on funding programs
About the biotechnology cluster

AI in industrial biotechnology

Goals:

  • Knowledge transfer of innovative AI approaches for efficient, resource-saving and high-quality processes, such as optimization of bacterial strains, control of bioreactors, use of digital twins
  • Raising awareness among AI providers for the needs of industrial biotechnology
  • Opening up new solutions through knowledge transfer and cooperation between research institutions and companies

AI in aerospace

Goals:

  • Overview of the state of the art of the cluster companies and institutions, the interfaces of artificial intelligence on the topic of integration of AI-supported sensor technology in platforms and unmanned flying systems
  • Identification and presentation of best practices from research and industry
  • Member matchmaking to utilize synergies
