Founded at the end of 2020, the Munich Data Science Institute (MDSI) is an “Integrative Research Institute” (IRI) within the Technical University of Munich (TUM) dedicated to questions and solutions from data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence. Its approximately one hundred researchers develop data analysis methods for the entire spectrum of subjects at TUM in an interdisciplinary research environment. MDSI’s goals are to promote cutting-edge research, transfer innovation and skills, create sustainable educational opportunities and access to resources, and engage with society.

As TUM’s interface to local, regional, national and international projects, initiatives and partners, MDSI acts as an innovation platform and contact point for networks and collaborations.
