Day two of the AI.BAY2023 was all about science. The latest AI developments and applications were presented and evaluated in lectures and discussion panels.
In the three tracks “AI and Data Science”, “AI and Life” and “Robotics, Engineering and Mobility”, top international speakers wereinnand speakers as well as by young talents, core topics of the baiosphere presented.
Highly topical and in focus: ChatGPT as Artificial Intelligence of text production reaching into many areas of research and life. A passionate discussion about the revolutionary AI technology unfolded in front of the audience in the round of Natural Language Processing (NLP) experts: Professors Hinrich Schütze (Ludwig–Maximilian’s–University of Munich), Verena Rieser (Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh) and Barbara Plank (Ludwig–Maximilians–University Munich) shared their perspectives on privacy and ethics, regulation of use, impact on human communication, and on the world of work.
A glimpse into the future was provided at the end of the second AI.BAY2023 Day awards for young people with the “Next Generation AI” awards: Winners of the the AI.BAY2023 upstream hackathons and the scientific Poster session received their certificates and prizes from the hands of the co-leaders of the Bavarian AI Council Fabian Theis and Thomas Hahn.
