DIGHUM lectures - Generative AI Degrades Online Communities

Large Language models like ChatGPT revolutionize information acquisition and content production across a variety of domains. Their abilities led to the degradation of online knowledge communities like Stack Overflow, where especially newer users reduced their participation on the wbsite. Reddit on the other hand didn't experience such a degradation, suggesting the importance of social fabric as a buffer against the community-degrading effects of LLMs. A lecture by Prof. Gordon Burtch.
