Article 50 in Practice – 11/25/2026
Generative AI is part of everyday work, from marketing images to chatbots to automated publications. Since August 2, 2026, the transparency obligations of the AI Act directly apply to these use cases; the Code of Practice on Transparency of AI Generated Content (June 2026) specifies the implementation. The focus is on operator obligations according to Art. 50 para. 3 and para. 4: Emotion recognition and biometric categorization must be disclosed, as well as deepfakes and texts on matters of public interest, with exceptions.
This training translates the legal text into concrete decisions using realistic case studies: When must content be labeled? Who is responsible, provider or operator? Participants learn to classify their own AI use cases, apply appropriate labeling methods, and set up internal processes. They leave the training with a clear picture of the transparency obligations and a practical path to compliance.
Learning objectives
You can correctly classify typical AI use cases and decide if and what operator obligation under Art. 50 para. 3 or para. 4 AI Act applies, including existing exceptions.
You can determine and classify the division of responsibility between the provider and the operator and how the provider obligations under Art. 50 para. 1 and para. 2 should be examined when purchasing AI systems.
You plan concrete first implementation steps: select appropriate labeling practices, set up internal processes to meet your organization's operator obligations, and assess whether signing the Code of Practice would be beneficial for your organization.
Requirements: No legal training required. A rough understanding of the AI Act and own examples from everyday work with generative AI, especially as an operator, are advantageous but not required.
Trainer: Claudia Baumgartner, Trustworthy AI Expert, appliedAI Institute for Europe.
Target audience: The training is aimed at anyone who uses generative AI as an operator or is responsible for its use: founders, product and marketing leads, compliance and data protection officers, as well as communication and digitalization teams in authorities and municipalities. Suitable for startups, SMEs, and the public sector alike.
This training is offered as part of the Bavarian AI Innovation Accelerator. The project is funded by the Bavarian State Ministry for Digital Affairs. Details: https://innovationsbeschleuniger.bayern/
