AI Act Engineering: Integrating Compliance into Development Processes – 08.10.2026
As part of the Bavarian AI Innovation Accelerator, appliedAI offers free and practical learning paths. The training supports companies, startups, and public institutions in building AI competencies, understanding regulatory requirements of the EU AI Act, and implementing them specifically.
Learn step by step which engineering practices and tools are suitable for integrating EU AI Act requirements into technical development processes.
This training shows how already established engineering practices and available open-source tools can support the central requirements of the EU AI Act. You will learn where compliance aspects should be considered in existing development workflows and how technical and organizational requirements can be practically categorized, especially for high-risk AI systems. Furthermore, you will get an overview of existing gaps between regulatory requirements, AI standards, and current engineering practices.
Learning Objectives
Explain how best engineering practices already support the central requirements of the EU AI Act.
Identify relevant points in development workflows where EU AI Act requirements should be considered and integrated.
Distinguish central technical and organizational requirements of the EU AI Act with a special focus on high-risk AI systems.
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of machine learning and software development is beneficial but not a requirement.
Trainers: Akhil Deo, Senior AI Regulatory Expert, appliedAI Institute for Europe
Kristof Schröder, Principal Research Engineer, appliedAI Institute for Europe
Target Audience: The training is aimed at those responsible in SMEs, startups, and the public sector, particularly technical experts who implement regulatory requirements practically, as well as product and project managers with compliance responsibility. It is also aimed at people involved with the quality, compliance, and safety of AI systems.
