As part of the Bavarian AI Innovation Accelerator, appliedAI offers free and practical learning paths. The trainings support companies, startups, and public institutions in building AI competencies, understanding regulatory requirements of the EU AI Act, and addressing technical implementation steps effectively.

Get a structured overview of AI standards and learn how to apply them for conformity assessment according to the AI Act.

Training goals

This training provides you with a basic understanding of the landscape of standards and their role in the context of the AI Act. You will learn about the development process of AI standards, understand their interaction with other regulations and sector-specific standards, and receive practical guidance on creating appropriate evidence for conformity assessment. The goal is to empower you to use AI standards for compliance purposes and engage relevant stakeholders.

Learning Objectives

  • You understand the motivation for AI standards and their central role in the AI Act, especially for the conformity assessment of high-risk AI systems.

  • You will receive an overview of the landscape of AI standards and their development process over time.

  • You understand methods for the operational application of AI standards, especially with regard to appropriate evidence, relevant stakeholders, and sector-specific aspects.

Requirements: No prior knowledge of standards required - the training is specifically aimed at beginners in this field.
