Theatre play AI eats soul - 10.02.-14.02.2026
AI eats soul (ORPHEAI) is a theater text by Thomas Köck that reflects on the consequences of ubiquitous data exploitation and surveillance from the perspective of an AI. The play imagines an AI in the likeness of a human, whose hunger for personal data becomes a metaphor for surveillance capitalism – playful, curious, cruel, and insatiable at the same time.
Under the direction and choreography of Katja Wachter, second-year acting students work physically on the text to depict the boundary between human and machine. The students act as avatars of the AI ORPHEAI in a performative spatial constellation with intense light and video designs.
The premiere takes place on 10. 02. 2026 at 19:30 in the Academy Theater of the Bavarian Theater Academy August Everding, Munich. Further performances will take place during the period 10.–14. 02. 2026, each with an introduction to the work beforehand.
