With the KI-Transfer Plus program, the Bavarian State Ministry for Digital Affairs supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in integrating Artificial Intelligence strategically within the company and implementing concrete applications. The program is coordinated by Bayern Innovativ, and the companies are accompanied by eight AI regional centers at Bavarian universities.

The program takes a holistic approach: Within nine months, participating companies build AI competencies, develop an individual AI strategy, and realize their own AI use case until the pilot operation. Both technical know-how and organizational prerequisites for the long-term deployment of AI are created.

The program includes practical workshops, online learning modules, and exchange formats with other companies. The aim is to enable medium-sized businesses to independently implement further AI projects even after the program is completed.

Medium-sized companies with a clear motivation for AI introduction, sufficient personnel resources, and a fixed project management can participate. The self-contribution is 29,000 euros net. Participants' English skills are required.

Application deadline for new program round

The current program round starts in July 2026. Due to still available places, the application deadline has been extended and ends on June 15, 2026.

With KI-Transfer Plus, Bavaria aims to strengthen the knowledge transfer between science and industry and sustainably expand the competitiveness of medium-sized businesses in the age of Artificial Intelligence.
