The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) has launched the expression of interest procedure for the Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI) Artificial Intelligence. Until 21. Januar 2026, companies, research institutions and start-ups are invited to submit innovative project outlines to become part of this Europe-wide flagship project. Germany plans a participation of over one billion euros to advance industrial AI and create a sustainable AI ecosystem.

Projects in areas such as autonomous production, AI-driven robotics and materials research that can revolutionize the competitiveness of European industry are being supported. The aim is to support small and medium-sized enterprises in the integration of advanced AI technologies.
