This lecture examines the current state of the AI Act, which serves as a groundbreaking regulatory framework for the use of artificial intelligence in the European Union. We will discuss the key provisions, the different risk categories of AI applications, and the challenges arising from the implementation of these regulations. In addition, the role of the new “Digital Omnibus” will be considered, which aims to simplify regulatory requirements.
